Independence Day (India) Ceremony

India's Independence Day (Swatantrata Divas) will be one of three annual national holidays on 15 August committed. He recalled the 1947 on that day gained independence from the British Empire by force of the Mountbattenplans.

It is celebrated throughout the country with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag and distributing sweets. The main celebrations are in New Delhi, where the government buildings are decorated with flags and hoisting the Prime Minister the flag on the Red Fort and holds a televised address in which he singles out the achievements of the previous year and draws a picture of the planned further national development. The Prime Minister intends that day the leader of the Indian freedom movement.

The flag-raising and public cultural programs are held in all major cities in India, besides they are carried out by many private organizations, schools and colleges.

In different regions, there is also the popular Independence Day tradition of flying kites. It held tournaments and hundreds of colorful kites flying at the same time of balconies and roof terraces in the air.

The events are broadcast live-coverage in the national television channel Doordarshan and All India Radio, many other stations have enriched its program with patriotic films and music.
