Lamium orvala

The more false nettle (Lamium Orval scientific name Carl von Linné, 1759) is a small herbaceous plant perennial flowers in the family Lamiaceae labiati.

Morphology

The plant height varies between 30 and 60 cm (maximum 100 cm). The organic form is emicriptofita scaposa (H SCAP), which is a herbaceous plant, perennial overwintering buds at ground level and covered with litter or snow, with a floral axis more or less straight, with few leaves. The habit of this plant can be ground cover.

Roots

The roots are from secondary rhizome.

Leaves

Leaves all petiolate are heart-shaped (or triangular-ovate), while the apex is sharp. The behavior of the leaves is obvious. Along the stem are arranged in opposite pairs and have no stipules. The surface is almost tomentose pubescent (especially on the margins), the edge is irregularly and coarsely toothed and the lower side there are the obvious ribs.

The leaf color is dark green on upper and lower parts, tending to reddish.
Leaves medium size: width 70 to 10 cm, length 8 -12 cm (the larger ones can reach 16 cm in length). The length of the stalk is the length of the lamina.

Inflorescence

The inflorescence is increased in several superimposed axillary whorls along the stem. Each whorl is composed of several flowers (12 to 15) arranged circularly sessile crown resting on two Leafiness bracts (or leaves only smaller than those along the stem), they are stalked. The next whorl of bracts are arranged alternately.

The flower

The flowers are hermaphrodite, zygomorphic (the cup is actinomorphic), tetracyclic (with four whorls of fundamental angiosperm: corolla-calyx - androecium - harem) and pentamers (calyx and corolla composed of five elements). Also omogami (self-fertile), citronella smell unpleasant with a fund and are rich in nectar.
